| Built in 1568 AD. The Great Scrolls of Old Testament, the copper plates in which the grants of privileage made by the Cochin rulers were recorded and the exquisite Chinese hand painted tiles are of interest.
Jew Town in Mattancherry is home for the 20 odd Jews who still live in India, mostly old timers; they chose to stay on even after the creation of Israel and the immigration by most of the younger generation of Jews to the Promised Land. |

Built by the Bolghatty Palace is situated in Bolghatty Island a narrow palm fringed island easily accessible from the mainland. The palace was built by the Dutch in 19744.later, it became the seat of the British Resident of Cochin and today this has been converted into a hotel by KTDC. |

Also known as Dutch Palace built by the Portugese and presented to the Raja of Kochi in 1557 AD. Its interiors are decorated with murals from the Ramayana and there are some lively displays of royal costumes and palaguins.

The Maritime Museum is housed in two magazines used during the World War-11 by the British. It is located on the Beach Road approximately 1km sound of St. Francis Church in Fortkochi. The Museum dwells on the rich Maritime Heritage of India. Also a sound and light show depicting the Navy in Action from 1946 to the Kargil conflict is also screened. On display are various vintage weapon equipments and missiles.

The Protestant church was originally built by Portuguese in 1503 AD and is believed to be the oldest church built by the Europeans in India. It is here the remains of the inveterate traveller, Vasco da Game were initially buried and 14 years later, his mortal remains were taken to Lisbon, Portugal. |

A man-made Island created from the material dredged while deepening Cochin Port. Regular ferry services on the late surrounding the Island afford an expensive backwater cruise. The Govt. of India Tourist Office is situated here. The Southern Naval Command Headquarters of India, the seaport, airport, railway terminus, important offices of the Cochin Port and the Customs House are located in the Island.

This bastion of the Portuguese in Kochi was a symbol of the strategic alliance between the Maharajah of Kochi and Monarch of Portugal, after whom it was named. Built in 1503, the fort was reinforced in 1538 by 1806 the Dutch, and later the British, had destroyed most of the walls and its bastions. |
