Day 01: Cochin
On arrival to the Cochin International airport you will be met by Indian Voyages representative and transferred to your hotel. A port town since early centuries, Cochin offers you some fascinating snippets of history and culture. Relax and unwind at the hotel. Go for an optional sightseeing tour to explore the many fascinating highlights of Cochin which include - The Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church, the Santa Cruz Basilica, the Dutch Palace, the spice market and the 15th century Chinese fishing. In the evening enjoy a relaxing sunset cruise. Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 02: Cochin – Munnar (146 Km / 4 ½ h)
Morniong after brreakfast drive to Munnar a hill station located 1600 metres above sea level. Once the summer resort of the erstwhile British administration in South India it still retains its colonial charm and is famous for its tea plantations, most of which are privately owned. With its sprawling estates, rolling hills, sparkling waterfalls, picture postcard hamlets and undulating valleys, Munnar is an ideal get-away destination. Check into your hotel and unwind. Day 03: Munnar
Morning breakfast at your resort and the day you take a visit tea museum, take a short trip to the Eravikulam National Park (home to the endangered Nilgiri Thar mountain goat amongst others) or simply walk through the enchanting tea estates and enjoy the tranquillity it provides. Day at leisure. Overnight at the resort.
Day 4: Munnar - Thekkady
After breakfast checkout from the hotel and drive to Periyar. Periyar an area known for its undulating hills, spice plantations, and elephant sightings. One of the 27 tiger reserves in India, the Periyar valley in Thekkady is the oldest. Check into your hotel. You could spend the rest of the day at leisure or go on a spice plantation tour where you will be enticed by not only the aroma of spices like cinnamon, cardamom, pepper and nutmeg but will also get to know how they are grown, harvested and processed before they reach the supermarkets. Day 5: In Thekkady
Morning breakfast at hotel, later you could go for a boat ride where you will have the opportunity to sight elephants and other animals along the bank. Boating through Periyar Lake will be ever memorable one. In the afternoon go on a spice plantation tour, where you will be enticed by the aroma of spices and proceed for shopping. Overnight at the resort.
Day 6: Thekkady – Kumarakom (134km/4hrs)
Breakfast at hotel and drive to Kumarakom, the enchanting backwater region of Kerala and check into your hotel. The labyrinthine network of rivers, canals, streams and lagoons which form the famed backwaters offer stunning views and is an ideal place to relax. Afternoon visit the Kumarakom bird sanctuary. You can spot King Fisher, Wood peeker, Drongo, Egrets, Bee-caters etc. Overnight at resort.
Day 7: Kumarakom - Alleppey
Morning after breakfast embark on your private houseboat from jetty and cruise on the Backwaters, a splendid area full of canals, lakes and coves. Your houseboats or 'Kettuvalloms' are luxurious boats with well appointed bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms. You can sunbathe on the deck or observe the palm fringed landscape from your cabins. Apart from the mesmerizing surroundings it's the life along the backwaters that makes this a fascinating experience. The locals travel in canoes and you will find vegetable sellers, fishermen and other traders bringing household goods, door to door in small wooden boats. As you cruise along the backwaters you can ask your captain to stop at villages, paddy fields and other places enroute. Overnight on board.
Day 8: Alleppey – Kovalam (175km/4hrs)
Breakfast houseboat and disembark at Alleppey jetty and driver to Kovalam. Kovalam, one of the most popular beach destinations in Kerala and check into your hotel. Kovalam consists of three adjacent crescent beaches separated by rocky headlands, of which the southernmost Lighthouse beach is the most famous. The Azure waters and favourable climate make Kovalam a favorite year-round destination for beach lovers. In the evening relax and explore the beautiful beach your own. Overnight at the Leela
Day 9: Kovalam – Trivandrum - Kovalam
After breakfast go on a day excursion to Trivandrum, the capital of Kerala and enjoy a sightseeing tour of the Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Horse Palace, Napier Museum and Art Gallery OR you could simply choose to spend your day at leisure on the beach. Overnight at the Resort.
Day 10: Kovalam – kanyakumari - Kovalam
Morning after breakfast day at excursion to Kanyakumari - Kanyakumari got its name from the Kumari Amman or the Kanyakumari Temple situated at the shore on the confluence of the Bay of Bengal, Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea. Most important sight seeing point is the Vivekanada rock memorial and Statue of Thiruvalloor. Here you will experience the ultimate beauty of Sunset from the tip of India and back. Overnight at Kovalam hotel.
Day 11: Kovalam - Flight Back Home
Morning after breakfast departure transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
