| Day 01: Cochin |
Arrival at Cochin International airport, welcomed by the Indianvoyages representative and transfer to your hotel. A port town, Kochi is a beautiful city situated on the Western Coast of India facing the Arabian Sea, and rightfully called the 'Queen of the Arabian Sea'. It has a rich network of backwaters and is the culture and heritage centre of Kerala. Cochin known as the Queen of Arabian Sea, Relax and unwind at the hotel. In the evening enjoy a relaxing sunset cruise and poroceed to watch Kathakali Dance at local theater. A special treat awaits us this evening as we proceed to witness the strength and vigor of Kathakali dance drama, as it enacts episodes from great Indian epics. The extremely stylized gestures, the elaborate make-up, the masks and the splendid costumes of these all-male dancers, recreates an incomparable sense of pageantry. Overnight at Cochin

| Day 02: Cochin |
Morning breakfast at hotel, After much rest and relaxation, proceed on a guided tour of the city. The true character of the city is to be found in the older parts of the Fort Cochin area. It more or less exists as it used to be a 1000 years back, when it was first built. The roads have not been widened because the old haggard buildings, through patchwork repairs over the centuries, still stand on the edges. This part of the city reflects an unusual blend of medieval Portugal, Dutch and English country life grafted on to the tropical Malabar Coast. The fishing community of Cochin is also very interesting. We would also visit the 16th century Mattancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace. The double storied quadrangular building surrounds a courtyard containing a Hindu temple. The Central Hall on the first floor was the coronation hall of the Rajas of Cochin; on display are their dresses, turbans and palanquins.
Then visit 'Jew Town', in the Mattancherry section and a short walk from the ferry is one street long. The area around the Synagogue, known, as Jew Town is one of the main centers of spice trade. Scores of small firms huddle together in old dilapidated buildings and the air is filled with the aroma of ginger, cardamom, cumin, turmeric and cloves. The area is very busy. | DAY 03: Cochin – Periyar |
Morning after breakfast disembark from the houseboat and drive to Periyar an area known for its undulating hills, spice plantations, and elephant sightings. One of the 27 tiger reserves in India, the Periyar valley in Thekkady is the oldest. Check into your hotel. Go on a spice plantation tour today where you will be enticed by not only the aroma of spices like cinnamon, cardamom, pepper and nutmeg but will also get to know how they are grown, harvested and processed before they reach the supermarkets. | DAY 04: In Periyar |
Early morning enjoy the spice plantation walk. You can actually see spices in its natural habitat. Learn a few simple and easy ways to make Kerala Dishes. Breakfast at hotel and proceed to taOvernight at Periyar Morning breakfast at resort and the day you could go for jungle trek and also engage in activities like Spice shoppings. In the evening you could also go for a boat ride where you will have the opportunity to sight elephants and other animals along the bank. It is also possible to go for an Elephant ride today. Overnight at resort. |
| DAY 05: Periyar - Kumarakom |
Morning after breakfast driver to Kumarakom, the enchanting backwater region of Kerala and check into your hotel. The labyrinthine network of rivers, canals, streams and lagoons which form the famed backwaters offer stunning views and is an ideal place to relax. Day at leisure. Overnight at resort. |
| DAY 06: In Kumarakom |
Morning breakfast at hotel and day of leisure at the resort. Also you can explore the resort amenities - adventure activities like canoeing, water scooter rides, boat rides etc are available during your day of leisure at the resort. Enjoy a rejuvenating general full-body Ayurveda massage. Overnight at the resort. |
| DAY 07: Kumarakom - Mararikulam |
Morning breakfast at resort and drive to the picturesque fishermen's village of Mararikulam and check into your resort. Tucked away inside quiet and lush coconut groves the resorts set by the pristine white sand beaches of the Marari offer you unparalleled quite in astoundingly beautiful settings. Day is leisure on the beach resort. Overnight at the Marari Beach Resort. |
| DAY 08: Marari |
Breakfast at hotel and the day at leisure on the beach. Bicycles can be organised for you so you can go biking along the beautiful coastal back roads of Marari. The area offers breathtaking views and one can bike through the beautiful fishermen's villages right up to the Arthumkal Church which is built by the sea. You could also choose to visit nearby Alleppey town and its bazaars and historical buildings. A visit to the coir factories around the village is also very interesting. Overnight at the resort. |
| DAY 09: Mararikulam - Cochin Departure |
After breakfast it’s time to bid farewell, drive to airport for your departure transfer. |
